What is a ductless mini-split?

What Is R454B Refrigerant?
R454B is the next-generation refrigerant replacing R410A in many air conditioners and heat pumps. It was developed to deliver the same dependable performance as R410A while significantly reducing environmental impact.
With a much lower global warming potential (GWP), R454B supports ongoing efforts to phase down high-GWP refrigerants and meet new environmental regulations. Because of this shift, manufacturers are already transitioning their new equipment lines to use R454B beginning in 2025.
This industry-wide transition will continue over the next several years, accelerating the adoption of R454B in air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment.

What If My System Uses R410A?
If your current HVAC system uses R410A, there’s no need for immediate concern. Even as new equipment transitions to R454B, R410A will remain available for repairs and service for many years. Most HVAC systems have a lifespan of 15–20 years, and R410A-compatible parts and refrigerant will still be supported during that time.
However, if your system is aging or nearing replacement, you may want to consider upgrading sooner rather than later—before rising demand and manufacturing changes affect equipment pricing.
